Where we spread our wings and fly!
It all started with a neglected Conure, I was not expecting to take in a bird at the time. But I soon met Opal, my first ever rescue. She was dumped outside a local avian specialty store along with her parents. Their cages where empty besides their half full food and water dishes. The bottoms were covered in fecal matter and the birds hung to the side, panting with anxiety.

The man stated Opal was "aggressive" and would attack anyone who went to touch her. I grabbed Opal, placed her right on my shoulder, she snuggled in and that was it for me. I had found what was calling me, I immediately dove into proper husbandry, advanced avian raw whole food diets, naturalistic enrichment and proper stimulation in captivity.

As of today, we have a established Conure flock ( as well as our other intakes) with Opal paving the way to welcome in new members. Her boss attitude has always been memorizing and I often refer to her when I need help with nervous birds. Using other, well- established birds in the rescue always helps other birds associate me as part of the flock.

Everyday we open our doors to elderly, sick and abused birds. NO matter the costs or time that will be required by us.
